Prayer Changes Things

Updated: Jan 1, 2021

Prayer is the means of communication between God and believers, it strengthens your faith.

Many have heard the phrase "Prayer is the key and faith unlocks the door."

Jesus says "Because of your little faith, for assuredly, I say unto you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain: Move from here to there, and nothing will be impossible for you.'" Matthew 17:20. Therefore, we must ask and believe.

In the Book of Acts Chapter 16, there are two disciples by the name of Paul and Silas who were in a city called Philippi, preaching and teaching God's Holy word. Because of a miraculous display of God's power, they were called trouble makers, beaten, and imprisoned. While in prison they began to pray and sang during the night, and at midnight the prison was shaken by an earthquake and they were released to continue God's work.

Prayer is commanded by God, therefore, believers must be obedient to God in all things that He has commanded them to do. It is crucial that believers build on their relationship with the Father because we are representatives of the Kingdom, ambassadors of Christ. Obedience is better than sacrifice -- where much is given, much is required.

God's power to deliver is still available today for those who will exercise faith and seek His will in their lives.

Believers must never lose hope. In Luke 18:2-8, you learn about a widow who had been cheated by an adversary (someone who was causing conflict in her life), so she went to the judge. But the judge paid the woman no concern because he had no fear of God nor man. Because of this woman's persistence, the judge had a change of heart.

"And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bear long with them." Luke 18:7

Do you have a prayer partner?

James 5:16 tells us to confess our trespasses one to another, this will keep our conscience clear. If we confess our sins, He is faithful to cleanse our sins. Now, there is no need to confess someone else's sins, God wants to hear from each individual about their own sins. We must take responsibility for our very own actions. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. We must pray for one another. I need you, and you need me, we are all a part of God's body. I need you to survive. God wants to heal us!

Prayer is simply a letter sent from earth to heaven. I have so many loves ones, but sometimes it saddens me that I'm not always able to be there in their time of need or trouble -- but it enlightens me to know that God is there. Yes, our God is Omnipresent, He can be everywhere at once. He's Omniscient, He is all knowing, and He's Omnipotent, He has all power. All I have to do is be in right standing with Him which is humility, sincerity, and He can meet my loved ones needs in an instance.

Isn't that good to know? And He's only a prayer away! But when we love to be seen, heard, and feed our ego then its undesirable.

"Heaven is God's throne. It is a throne of grace. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

When we begin to pray, we must enter in prayer with thanksgiving, and adoration. 1 Thessalonians 5: 16 -18 reads:

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks."

Yes, we are to be thankful for the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thank God for who He is, and thank Him for your life because He wants to use you right where you are. For His, is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory for all eternity. When we pray, we pray in Jesus name because His name is well known in Heaven, and His name is very precious.

Ask the Father for whatever you are in need of, in Jesus name, because He wants to bless you! Amen.
