Turn on the Light

There is so much confusion going on in the world in which we live. Every-time we turn on the television there is bad news, sometimes I feel like just leaving it off. But today I would like to remind you to hold your head up high because there is good news. "The Light is here", but we have to turn it on.

Back in the mid 80's, there was a popular song during that time called "Turn off the Light" but today God is telling us "And be not conform to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind; Romans 12:2____ Turn on the Light!

In order to turn the light on, you first have to be connected. In the book of the Gospel of John, Jesus is telling a man by the name of Nicodemus that the only way to see God's Kingdom, is one must be born again. Nicodemus belonged to a very important click, who were not followers of Jesus, but Jesus had Nicodemus undivided attention, Jesus met with Nicodemus after hours during the night, so that he could learn more about Jesus. Jesus will meet you right where you are, all you have to do is ask.

John 3:16 reads For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus also tells Nicodemus that God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be save---- It is God's desire that all will be saved.

Often times we have a misunderstanding of what the light does. we don't want to be exposed, and would rather remain in darkness. The darkness cannot comprehend the Light. But the Light brings forth truth.

"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

Because of this misunderstanding of the Light, those who do evil hate the light, and will not accept the Light because they do not want to be corrected.

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. John 14:16

There are three ways that we can turn on the Light.

First, through Knowledge. I don't know about you, but my mistakes in life leads me to the knowledge of God, I was stumbling through the dark. trying to do things my way, and on my own. its sort of like when we get up in the middle of the night and walk thru our house without turning on the light. because we have a little moonlight, we think that we are okay, but we are still in the dark, we forget about those shoes that we haven't put away, and we began to stumble. so the next time we will turn on the light.

Second, Truth. If we want to see King Jesus, we must be Born Again! "If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed." John 8:36

Third, Goodness; goodness is a virtue and holiness in action: it results in a life characterized by deeds motivated by righteousness and a desire to be a blessing. "and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God; to them who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

The good news is, Jesus is the Light of the World!
